October 19, 2015

well Good morning for you!
Well this week was an ok week! still just small small! It is getting really hot and I wasn't ready for it so I have been a little dehydrated but don't worry I have been drinking more water! Sorry but I don't think that package will get here on time ;) but that's ok! (we sent a Halloween package)
HEY MOM WE SAW A TORNADO! just thought I would let you know ;) (I read about this on his companion's blog last week and asked him if that was maybe something his mom would want to hear about!) It wasn't even close to touching the ground! but if it did it would destroy this place! I have only seen that one! me and Elder Sutherin almost saw one in Sunyani. It was spiraling but not with enough speed or down force! I want to see one but I don't because It would kill thousands due to lack of strength in the buildings here!! but I think one will happen soon to humble some of these apostate churches!! but we will see!! haha
I forgot to tell you but remember Mobby from Dichemso? My RC (recent convert) down there? Well I was transferred to Sunyani then I heard he moved to Techiman! Then I moved here and the first day we were walking around we saw him in town! It turns out he lives in my area again!! haha so the Lord has something planned for him!!
The Branch is doing ok! Only about 20 active members!! but we are trying our best to strengthen it! It is going to take a lot of work! but I feel we can help it a lot! We starting teaching these two young men, Julius and Dennis! They are so awesome! They go to a boarding high school in our area and just came one Sunday and we started teaching them! They are really understanding and know it is true and they read from the Book of Mormon so that is great!
We have to travel to Kumasi on Wednesday for training or something like that! So it will be a fun two hour drive! haha I am a traveling champ now! I can't sleep when I travel now! so If we ever go somewhere I can drive now!! ;) 5 months until my birthday! I am going to be an old man!! in no time! ;)
I love you

Elder Snow

Some of our conversation- That's awesome about Mobby! He belongs with you! :)
haha I guess he does! we are teaching him missionary work :)

I'm going to visit Amy Davis right now. :) (His best friend's mom)
tell my second mom I love her :)

I got permission from Elder Porritt's (Hunter's comp) mom to share this part of his letter this week.
Another interesting thing about Ghana is the amount of churches here.  On our road alone there is our church, and 5 others. Our road is only 1/4 mile long... If you walk down a normal street here you will most likely come across at least 5 or 6 churches.  sometimes up to 10 or so.  It seems like everyone we see is a pastor.
And OH BOY a good story about a pastor.  So Elder Snow and I were walking to a members house to have dinner and a guy in a nice truck pulled up to us and stopped us and his first words were, and I quote "You are the people who think Joseph Smith is the Savior right?"  Oh man when he said that I about fell on the ground and I didn't know how to respond because the question took me by such a surprise!!  But Elder Snow said No Jesus Christ is the Savior.  Elder Snow knows his bible very well and I believe he could bible bash with the best of them.  He was throwin out scriptures like a mad man with that pastor but eventually we just walked away.  It was quite the experience.

A crazy storm that came in with a beautiful sunset!!

We were at a members and Elder Porritt passed out so I got a pic :)

The branch is small but we are working at it! We have to fight all the traditions they do that need to be stopped! but all in all it has potential! haha the terrain, Mud, Mud, Mud, and a little more Mud. Food, they like waakye out here! it is nice I love it! but my poor comp doesn't! haha I take it easy on him with food so don't worry ;) ever since I got rid of the worm I haven't been getting sick! so that is awesome!!! haha getting sick sucks!

Well good morning!!
It was a very eventful week! Moving, training and trying to learn a new area haha! I am training Elder Porritt from Bear River city!! He is a baseball player, just graduated this past year! We get along really well! I am liking training! My new apartment is sweet! Sorry I forgot to take pictures! We live in the chapel! haha
haha dont worry no one emails me except the boys on mission! and you and dad and granny Susie haha! so I have a lot of time! but sorry emailing is boring ;) Everything is just normal to me now!
but at the mission home when we went to pick up the elders we are training I was talking to a lot of the Americans! I met Elder Walch from Hemet! His trainer is my favorite Ghanaian ever!! so sweet! but all of them were telling me how much of an accent I have! but I dont hear it at all!!! but I guess it must be true haha! I can not believe it's October already!! that is crazy! time is fast! I am excited to hear the talks! (from conference) I hope I can get them soon!!!
I love you! ask some more questions and i will try and answer them!

September 28, 2015

Hey everyone!
Well some good news this week! I will be going to a place called Techiman. It is about an hour north east of Sunyani here! I will be DL there and I will go to a white washed area (all new Elders), and I have been called to train a new missionary! So this will be a crazy transfer week for me trying to learn a new area, train, and still DL stuff!
Besides that nothing this week really happened ha! So I will just kind of ramble on a little so it gets a little longer!
I did finish reading Jesus the Christ, Our Heritage, and Our Search for Happiness. A strange thing might be happening, I think I actually like to read now? ha I am thinking about trying it more when I go home;)
Someone tried to break in the church but the attempt was unsuccessful! haha
I love you very much!
medasee :)

me do nyniniaa

I asked- Wow you are going to be busy! Do you know who you will be training?
His reply- I learn that when I shake his hand hahah!

Sister Victoria is on left she is baptized, then Sister Esther on right she is an investigator!!

September 21, 2015

Hello!!
Well this week there was some interesting things that went on!
We had a zone conference in Techiman! That was fun! I always like coming together for stuff like that to learn and grow! Then on Saturday we went and helped brother Richard on his farm!! We harvested corn, then we hiked over to a far place where his father in law was! and what they were doing is hilarious! I'll just send a pic of it and dad you can explain it to everyone ;)
The farm was in the village so there were some sweet houses!! and plenty of bush everywhere! I'll send the pics!! but that is all really! Sorry it is hard to write longer than this!! :)
Love you though :)

Elder Snow

We talked a little about transfers coming up and I asked him if he still wanted to go up north..
His reply- Idk haha I'll go wherever, it is all cool to me ;)
Then I said- That's a good attitude? I'm going to get a package together. Any requests?
His reply- not so much candy! and a lot of meat :)

Apparently the father in law makes moonshine!

September 14, 2015

hello!!
Well sorry but my emails suck! There isn't a lot going on! But this week was a good week just working and finding some new people! I am sure in a few months this will be a strong branch! We almost used a full water sacrament tray! (that is a big deal around here) haha
BYU sounds like they are doing great! That is awesome! I would like you to send me a sudoku book please!! It is nice to just have something to do at night when I cant sleep!
My testimony has grown like crazy! Sharing it on email is tough, you might just have to wait until I am home ;) haha but I love you very much!

Elder Snow

Well since Elder Snow didn't have a lot to say this week I thought I would share some videos he sent to Shay (listen to his accent) and a few random pictures that his companion put on Facebook.
